Telecommunications Cable Technician
Reporting to the Project Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the installation, cabling, commissioning, and technical support of telecommunications networks at our clients’ sites. This role is essential to ensure reliable, professional, and durable installations in both commercial and industrial environments.

  • Perform installation, cabling, and connection of networks (fiber optics, structured cabling, coaxial, etc.).

  • Conduct compliance testing and ensure installation quality according to current standards.

  • Install and configure telecommunications equipment (racks, patch panels, outlets, routers, modems, etc.).

  • Read and interpret plans, diagrams, and technical specifications.

  • Collaborate with clients on-site to ensure installations meet their needs.

  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues encountered during installations.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and deadline requirements.

  • Complete intervention reports and maintain up-to-date technical documentation.

  • Knowledge of cabling types (cable categories, fiber optics, coaxial, etc.).

  • Ability to read plans, diagrams, and technical specifications.

  • Proficiency with diagnostic and cabling certification tools.

  • Strong problem-solving skills for technical issues in the field.

  • Rigour, attention to detail, and commitment to quality work.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

  • Strong team spirit and professional attitude with clients.

  • Good organizational skills and effective time management.

  • Comfort working in various environments (offices, job sites, ceilings, etc.).

  • Vocational diploma (DEP) or technical training in telecommunications, electronics, or electricity (or any other relevant training).

  • Experience in structured cabling or telecom installation (a strong asset).

  • Valid driver’s license (travel to client sites required).

  • ASP Construction card (an asset).

  • Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical work.
